As you may know its essentially a petzl like head lamp with a Willie Hunt LVR built in. Initially I was a little unimpressed with the light output and beam focus, but after replacing the misaligned low-power bulb with the halogen bulb, and aligning it in the reflector carefully I was quite pleased with the amount of light. The closet thing I have to compare it to is a Specialized Vegas (cateye micro equivalent) and it beats that handily. It seems nearly on par with 6 watt mr11 systems I have witnessed, but much better focused. Using 6 Nexcell 1600Mah NimH AA batteries I got a four hour bright light runtime in 40 degree weather before the warning flash started. The low power bulb should yield about 8 hours under the same conditions, but it is borderline for riding I think. Alkalines with their slightly higher voltage might extend the runtime a bit, but since I ride every night I like rechargeables for daily use. I still prefer my 20 Watt MR11 light for commuting, but for training in lightly trafficked areas the Space Shot works for me, and is much lighter. here is the url http://www.bdel.com/backcountry/headlamps_spaceshot.html Take Care, Nelson Ralls Plano, TX.
