Central part are indoor luxmeter-measurements and nighttime photos on a quiet street in Hamburg. The printed article is about 9 high quality dynamo powered headlamps and one battery lamp: * aufa SR95 * aufa 12V * Basta Horizon * Basta U70R * BISY Fl-SR * Buechel Xenon * Busch&Mueller Lumotec Oval * Hella Micro FF * SigmaSport Ellipsoid Optaflux * Spanninga Ekolight Bird In the WWW-version we added some interesting unusual head lamps for comparison: * Lumicycle 5W MR11 spot * Welsh-Allyn 10W Solarc metal-halide * PTalpha2 LED-headlamp by Olaf Schultz (Nichia-LEDs potted with clear epoxy in housings of 10mm LEDs to form a narrower beam) You will find the www-version at http://www.fa-technik.adfc.de/Komponenten/Scheinwerfer/ Especially helpful to compare the illumination pattern side-by-side for different headlamps should be: http://www.fa-technik.adfc.de/Komponenten/Scheinwerfer/vergleich.htm All measurements and fotos of 6V-headlamps are done using the same (one!) selected bulb with "medium" properties, voltage was regulated to 6.0V or 13.5V (for the "12V" lamps). Enjoy Andreas (you can see me on one of the fotos - it was a very hot night)
